The Lake Greeson Wildlife Management Area which encompasses US Army Corps of Engineers and timber company lands includes over 35,000 acres which are open to the public for hunting.

The lake is a nature lover's delight during all seasons. The intensely folded geology of the Ouachita Mountains is apparent in the towering vertical rock outcroppings at the Chimney Rocks. A wide variety of trees, flowering shrubs, and wildlife afford photographers and nature lovers many hours of enjoyment throughout the year. You can often see white-tailed deer and turkey along the shore.
For the "Birder" grand opportunities exist for Lake Greeson Bird Watchingviewing migratory waterfowl in season as well as winter inhabitants such as the Bald Eagle.
